Trumpeter Chris Coletti is celebrated for his versatility as a soloist, principal trumpet, chamber musician, arranger, and conductor. A former member of the Canadian Brass, he has performed and recorded with leading ensembles including the Metropolitan Opera Brass, New York Philharmonic Brass, and St. Louis Symphony, as well as with artists such as Chris Thile, Jon Batiste, Quincy Jones, Gloria Estefan, and Kanye West.
Now Associate Professor of Trumpet and Director of the Contemporary Ensemble at Ithaca College, Coletti also servess Principal Trumpet of ROCO Houston and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, and Acting Principal of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. His artistry spans classical, baroque, and contemporary genres — and even includes professional whistling and theremin performance.
Coletti’s students have gone on to attend top conservatories including The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, and the Tanglewood Music Center, and to win positions in professional orchestras, military bands, and university faculties across the country.
